Erdogan Warns of Regional Crisis Driven by Israeli Actions
“We all know that the attacks targeting Gaza first, then Yemen and Lebanon, and most recently Iran, are not solely motivated by security concerns,” Erdogan said at the event. He suggested that these actions reflect deeper strategic intentions rather than purely defensive measures, highlighting a pattern of expanding conflict across multiple fronts.
Erdogan further remarked that as the international system established after World War II experiences a significant transformation, it is crucial for truths to be communicated clearly to the global audience. He stressed the importance of transparency during what he described as a historic turning point in global affairs.
He also pointed out that Israel has restricted access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s first qibla, for Muslim worshippers for over two weeks, describing the closure as baseless and lacking legitimate authority. Erdogan added that the simultaneous spread of narratives—from territorial ambitions tied to a “promised land” to apocalyptic interpretations—appears intentional rather than accidental.
"It is essential that we break free from imposed agendas and explain these realities, this barbarity, and this state of madness to the world in a way that leaves an impact," he said. He called for a more forceful effort to raise international awareness and challenge dominant narratives surrounding the conflict.
According to reports, the United States and Israel have sustained a coordinated offensive against Iran since late February, resulting in over 1,300 fatalities, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes aimed at Israel as well as Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf states, asserting that the attacks are directed at “US military assets.” These retaliatory actions have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and significant disruptions to global markets and air travel.
